How to choose dripline and emitter spacing

Dripline selection is about more than roll length. Emitter spacing, discharge, operating pressure, line length and soil influence how water spreads along the crop row.

Match spacing to crop and soil

Start with crop spacing, bed width and the intended root-zone coverage. Soil texture and the way water moves through the soil also affect whether a particular emitter spacing is appropriate.

Closely spaced emitters are not automatically best for every crop, and wider spacing is not always suitable. Confirm the choice against the crop layout, soil and manufacturer guidance.

Check flow, pressure and filtration

  • Emitter discharge and operating-pressure range
  • Maximum practical line length for the chosen product
  • Available flow and pressure at the field
  • Filter type and capacity for the water source
  • Connectors, flush points and compatibility with mainline

Confirm before ordering

Send the crop, row spacing, bed dimensions, water source and approximate field size to DripTech Eco Flow. Those details help narrow the options and avoid choosing a roll based on spacing alone.
